I have some great news for researchers! George Seiters hinted to this in my two minute video with him, but here’s the full scoop: with the new Pro Plus LinkedIn account I’ve been testing you can now find anyone inside LinkedIn – and you are no longer limited by they size of your network. They are calling this “All-Search” and it means that when you do a search for a particular job title or company name you find all the contacts that exist inside LinkedIn, even if you have only a handful of connections. In addition, with this account you can also see 1,000 results instead of the 500 available in other accounts, and you can use the postal code radius search I previously described for US, Canada and UK.

Allow me to translate: what this means is that you can now use your LinkedIn account to manage your true professional connections without necessarily having to worry about increasing the size of your network for pure search reasons. This is hot because now when you do a narrow (very specific) search you won’t be wondering if there’s people you missed. As long as your search results in less than 1,000 contacts will know with certainty that you have found all the contacts existing in LinkedIn for that set of criteria.

Another cool thing I’ve been experimenting with for about a year is now part of this new account type and it is the “project management” piece which is a downloadable toolbar that enhances useability and workflow. I understand they are adding some quite useful recruitment workflow enhancements to it but as it stands now you can do the following:

  • Categorize LinkedIn profiles you find into virtual folders
  • Save your searches from within LinkedIn
  • Add private comments and tags to profiles to help you track which ones you’ve already seen, contacted, etc.
  • And reduce duplication of effort by collaborating with co-workers so they can see your virtual folders and comments coming out on Q1 (an enhancement to the online experience)

Also included and exclusive to Pro Plus corporate account holders you get three “slots” or “parking spaces” where you can rotate your top priority jobs. This is particularly useful to those of us who use LinkedIn in our signature – with a link to your priority jobs you can draw the curious yet passive candidate to look at your postings and also your profile!

BTW - for you managers out there - with this account you can also request customizable usage reports so you can track activity for you and your team!

LinkedIn Corporate Solutions should be releasing this and other updates on this page over the coming months and don’t forget to check out my extensive LinkedIn resources page: http://jobmachine.net/linkedin

LinkedIn Corporate Solutions - How much?

So has anybody gone through the demo and recieved a price quote for the Corporate Solutions? I'm mostly interested in the expaned search functionality, I'm wondering can you purchase "features" ala carte. I'm assuming since the regular high end package is $200 per month this one must be more....

Yes, I went through the demo of LI's new Corporate Solutions

I'm a corporate sourcer for a corporation. Personally, I don't really like Corp. Solutions. I know through sleuthing already how to have access to everyone on LI. Yes, it's time-consuming and a bit frustrating but certainly worth it being FREE! However, my director and the recruiters are pumped about it... and for good reason. They balance so many balls that the time spent to hunt LI for free like I do, they don't have the time... or the patience. As a former recruiter, I get that. With this tool, you can 'see' everyone on LI. Instead of doing one-off inmails, you can template them, save them, etc. It's pretty plush but I'm kind of scrappy! I'm also a cheapskate and this tool seems pretty expensive to me. The first sales guy who demoed it, I told him no, it was too expensive. He didn't even offer any price breaks and ended the conversation. But, I found out that our company is a high-profile account to them so now they're willing to negotiate. Go figure. Email me and I'll send you the pricing attachments and the side-by-side comparison to their other paid accounts. To even start talking with them there is a 15k minimum to buy. Golly!

Check me out on LinkedIn too.

Hi Shally, I was wondering

Hi Shally,

I was wondering what their plans are on improving the usability of xing for recruiters even further. I see a huge potential for a future outsourcing of formerly proprietary database solutions by a lot of headhunter companies. I am still waiting for the ultimate feature: The possibility to add "your own" profiles for people you found online but who have not signed up yet, just accessible in your own recruiter account. Like that linkedin could be able to beat every proprietary headhunter's database.

What are your thoughts on that?

LinkedIn Unleashed – find every contact in LinkedIn!

How much is the LinkedIn Unleashed going to cost either monthly or yearly? What are the full benefits to this service? I am familiar with LinkedIn and the information provided at no cost; however, specifically what information will be provided through the unleashed version? Also at any given time you can only view the information that candidates have posted openly, correct? In essence would this service provide more of a background on someone?

  Aileen - I can't speak

Aileen - I can't speak for them but I understand that there may special pricing for advanced purchase available for early adopters. The most clear benefit over the information which is currently free at this time is that with the new account you are able to see everyone in LinkedIn without needing to be connected to them. Effectually this means you will have access to contacts that otherwise would be completely unavailable to you. There are other benefits but they have not all been fully disclosed yet as they are still in the design and build phases. These new benefits will likely deal primarily with functionality, efficiencies and workflow from a recruitment perspective. And yes, you are correct, an individual (one of the 16 million people on LinkedIn) must have voluntarily entered their information into the system in order for you to find them. Finally, you are able to obtain a kind of "background" information on individuals by utilizing their network to check references.

Cheers,
