In an "out of character" move, LinkedIn actually made an
announcement about a system change - the abiliy for users to publish their
mug shots on their profiles so others can lear what they look like in order to for avoid them at conferences and events :)
As of tomorrow you can publish your professional headshot and it will appear on your profile, plus you can choose if your photo will be visible to just your 1st degree, all your connections, or to everyone.
But thankfully users can also choose if THEY want to see your photo. You can select if you would like to see your 1st degree contacts' photos, or those of all your connections, and even those of everyone who publish them publically.
Photos (if you choose to publish or view them) will appear between the name/location section and the "inMail" section in the header of a profile.
Durn. Now I have to go get a real photo!
